Frequently Asked Questions -

Some of the Frequently Asked Questions received by TRM Plumbing.

TRM Plumbing began serving the Los Angeles area in 1971 as a single person operated contracting company.  It has grown considerably since then but has always been a family owned and operated professional contracting company.

TRM Plumbing prioritizes high-quality craftsmanship and guarantees an unparalleled finished product. While TRM Plumbing has 40+ years in the plumbing contracting industry providing general plumbing services, the company has extensive experience in providing  general remodeling services with a keen insight into aesthetics, functionality and longevity. TRM Plumbing is the go-to company for complex problem solving.

TRM Plumbing charges an assessment fee that is generally applied as a credit towards the proposed work. This allows us to conduct proper diagnostics and establish an accurate scope of work. Sometimes, we are able to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis, particularly for larger projects.

Each job is unique and therefore very difficult to quote over the phone.  An estimate over the phone is at best an educated guess.  This is why we recommend a site visit and assessment.

A licensed contractor could help you avoid financial risk and other problems associated with unlicensed operators.

In California, anyone who contracts to perform work on a project that is valued at $500 or more for combined labor and materials costs must hold a current, valid license from CSLB. You can verify the license or call (800) 321-CSLB (2752).  MAKE SURE THE CONTRACTOR’S LICENSE AND INSURANCE IS ACTIVE

Be advised that unlicensed individuals pose a risk to you and your family’s financial security if a worker is injured while on your property, your property is damaged, or if the work is incomplete and/or faulty. Few, if any, unlicensed individuals have a bond or workers’ compensation insurance. The quality of their work usually doesn’t compare to that of a licensed contractor. Don’t take the chance in order to save a few dollars. You’ll probably end up paying more in the long run.

Insurance companies will not pay claims for damage caused by unlicensed individuals.

Due to insurance restraints, TRM Plumbing does not provide services for a tenant of a property unless there is written authorization from the owner.

Yes, emergency services are rendered outside of regular business hours, but are subject to increased rates and availability.

TRM Plumbing offers preventative maintenance programs for both residential and commercial customers. Benjamin Franklin said it best: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
